Community Partner Spotlight: Ocean City Home Bank

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is proud to partner with the Ocean City Home Bank for our food distribution efforts in Atlantic County. Through its Ocean City Home Charitable Foundation the Bank is providing support to the FoodBank’s Egg Harbor branch, to help supply supplemental groceries to casino workers who have been laid off from their jobs due to the closure of four Atlantic City casinos in 2014.

Many of the 8,000 workers who were laid off live in areas served by the FoodBank and our partner charities. To meet the needs of these workers and their families, CFBNJ started distributing emergency food boxes soon after the crisis began. The FoodBank also expanded its services in Atlantic City and Cape May counties through its Community Pantry, Mobile Pantry and SNAP (food stamp) outreach.

We are grateful to the Ocean City Home Bank, which is headquartered in Ocean City and has branches throughout southeastern New Jersey, for supporting the FoodBank in our mission and vision, including providing assistance to families and children in South Jersey in their time of need.
