Corporate Partner Spotlight: Morgan Stanley

When it comes to corporate commitment, our friends at Morgan Stanley set the bar high, supporting the FoodBank both monetarily and with an unprecedented volunteer effort. June is the company’s Global Volunteer Month, which kicks off with their Feeding Kids Around the Clock event. During the event, thousands of Morgan Stanley employees volunteer around the world for 24 hours to help fight child hunger, beginning in Australia and ending in Hawaii.

“Giving back and giving children a healthy start to life is rooted in who we are as a firm,” said Joan Steinberg, Global Head of Philanthropy at Morgan Stanley. “Our amazing employees are excited to once again unite with their colleagues around the world on this one day to make an impact in the communities where we live and work and help fight against child hunger.”

The FoodBank is fortunate to host a group of Morgan Stanley volunteers at our Hillside facility every year for this event, but the effort doesn’t stop there! Employees keep the good going by coming back to volunteer 2-3 times per week for the rest of the month, donating thousands of hours to help feed our struggling neighbors.

“Morgan Stanley has been one of our largest corporate volunteer partners for over a decade,” said Faye Kuhn, Director of Volunteer Services at the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “They bring their kind hearts and competitive spirits to accomplish an incredible amount of work in service of those in need.”

The FoodBank will honor Morgan Stanley as part of our dedicated volunteer corps with one of the HOPE awards that will be given out at this year’s All New Blue Jean Ball.

Morgan Stanley supports our child feeding efforts with generous financial contributions, as well. Most recently, the FoodBank was a recipient of a child feeding grant to fund two Kids Cafe sites, which together provide nourishing after-school meals to more than 130 kids.

We’re making strides against hunger thanks to the support of dedicated partners like Morgan Stanley!
