Ways To Give Back This Holiday Season

Events

Comedy Catalyst: Reserve your spot for the Comedy Catalyst show at Tierney’s Tavern in Montclair on December 3, at 7:30 pm — all to benefit the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. Tickets are $15. Donations of canned protein, soups and stews, beans and rice, peanut butter, and fruits and vegetables will be collected.

Broadway Beats Hunger: Summit Medical Group Foundation will host Broadway Beats Hunger on December 4! The holiday cabaret (featuring broadway stars) will benefit the Diabetes Initiative, a partnership program to combat hunger and diabetes.

Fundraisers

Crate & Barrel’s Holiday Fundraiser: Crate & Barrel invites you to celebrate the holiday season by giving back. From November 1 through December 31, Crate & Barrel will encourage customers to donate at the register and online. 100% of funds raised in-store will benefit local food banks.

Wells Fargo Holiday Food Drive: Wells Fargo is doubling as a food bank this holiday season in a joint effort with United Way to fight hunger. Bring non-perishable food to a Wells Fargo branch near you to support the cause. Donate from November 28 through December 30. Find a donation site near you!

Check-Out Hunger®: Add Check-Out Hunger® to your shopping list and visit participating stores through the holiday season to support our mission. It’s simple and efficient — all you need to do is donate at checkout, and 100% of your gift will go to your local food bank.

The Cheesecake Factory Holiday Campaign: The Cheesecake Factory will donate $0.25 of select cheesecake slices sold to help fight hunger this holiday season.

Village ShopRite Flu Promotion: Make your flu shot count! For every flu shot at Village ShopRite through March 2018, a dollar will be donated to feed our neighbors in need.

Youth Programs

Students Change Hunger: The statewide food and fund drive competition is underway and runs through December 11. New Jersey schools compete to collect food and funds. At the end of the challenge, the schools that bring in the most food will be presented with awards by their local food banks.

Annual Teen Hunger Summit: The Annual Teen Hunger Summit returns to Seton Hall Prep in West Orange on December 5. Middle school and high school students, teachers, campus ministers, and administrators are invited for a morning of free workshops and discussions about hunger and poverty in New Jersey, advocacy, community gardening, and more!
