South Jersey Industries

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey thanks South Jersey Industries, an energy company providing natural gas, utilities and other services, for its recent grant to CFBNJ. The grant will support our Community Pantry and Mobile Pantry programs, which provide much-needed food to poor and low-income households in Atlantic and Cape May counties. That area has seen about 8,000 employees laid off in 2014 because of the closure of several casinos.

The FoodBank’s Community Pantry served 2,300 households last year, including families and individuals who are homeless and living in temporary housing. Our Mobile Pantry visits areas where there are not enough food pantries to serve people in need, and provides groceries including fresh and nutritious foods.
