Marking National Volunteer Month

April is National Volunteer Month, the perfect time to thank the incredible volunteers who are the heart of CFBNJ, and to share the many opportunities for you to get involved during the month and all year.  Last year at our Hillside headquarters, we were fortunate to have 38,901 volunteer visits, which totaled 92,938 hours.  That equals the work of more than 44 full-time employees.  Faye Kuhn, CFBNJ’s Director of Volunteer Services, says “During the month of April, we take the opportunity to thank our volunteers and sing their praises, as there is so much for us to be grateful for.  Each day of the year, volunteers help sort, pack and prepare boxes of food for distribution.  They bring their ‘anything you need’ spirit with them as they are here to help their neighbors in need.  We know that we cannot do this without them and we are extremely grateful for their help.”  Whether it’s at Hillside, our southern branch in Egg Harbor Township, or at an off-site location or event, there are lots of great ways to pitch in.
