Community Assistance Pantry

The Community Assistance Pantry (CAP) is an independent agency, but is wholly subsidized by the Community FoodBank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) and meets all the qualifications of a participating charity. Located adjacent to the FoodBank in Egg Harbor Township, CAP provides food for individuals living in communities with no other pantry services.

CAP adheres to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s contract requirements, including ordering, appropriate storage, non-discriminatory distribution and timely reporting. If you have questions, please contact Debra Fleischer at dfleischer@cfbnj.org or 609-383-8843 ext. 107.

How CAP Works

CAP is a choice pantry. Clients make their own selections of food available to them. We ask that clients make appointments to shop. Those without appointments are fit in as space becomes available in the shopping area.

Client Qualification

CAP provides food for individuals living in communities with no other pantry services. It is recommended that you call 609-383-8843 to see if there is a pantry in your community. Individuals in emergency situations seeking assistance are provided food once and referred to a pantry in their area. An identification document (driver’s license, food stamp card, any form of government or pantry issued ID card) must be presented upon intake and every time the client returns for food.

Once qualified, a client may return every 30 days to shop for their food. Please see our Pantry Client Requirements and Pantry Intake Form.

Referrals are not necessary to access CAP. We distribute federal government USDA food items, and the USDA forbids mandatory referrals. Occasionally, clients may bring a referral from a local social service agency, which we will use as part of the client intake.

Sunday & Monday: Closed
Tuesday: 1 pm to 4 pm
Wednesday: 1 pm to 4 pm.
Thursday: 1 pm to 4 pm
Friday: 1 pm to 4 pm
Saturday: 9 am to noon
